The Story: For Bob and Alice, two veterans living independently, the steps to their front doors have become an immovable barrier. Limited mobility has kept them largely confined to their living rooms—cut off from neighbors, appointments and the simple freedom of coming and going. This Good Deed mobilizes a volunteer build team ready to work over the weekend but they need help covering materials. Your gift provides the pressure-treated lumber, sturdy handrails, and non-slip surfaces required to build a safe, ADA-compliant ramp.
The Impact: In a single day, these two service members regain access to their homes and independence. Once-isolating obstacles are replaced with safety, dignity and renewed connection to the outside world. This build doesn’t just change houses; it restores freedom for neighbors who served their country and deserve to move through life without barriers.
